Sprout Restaurant Review

Fresh, Organic & Yummy!

Sprout offers a combination of organic and gourmet cooking with American-style fast food, as well as both vegan and gluten-free selections.  They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and are conveniently located on the main street running through Tamarindo, close to the start of the beach.

I have had the pleasure of dining at Sprout multiple times since moving to Tamarindo, and the food, and service, have invariably been very good.  The staff, led my manager Robert, are all polite, and speak both Spanish and English.

My most recent visit was for dinner, and I was looking for something fresh and light, as I had just returned from a visit to Canada where I ate and drank to excess, and I needed to get back into shape – or at least a less-rounded shape!

I decided on their Cajun Chicken Salad ($11) which includes grilled Cajun chicken, lettuce, avocado, corn, black beans, mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, red onion, cucumber and a ranch dressing. 

The salad was delicious, and the slightly spicy chicken was a perfect complement to the sweetness of the salad itself.  Portion size was what I would consider to be “medium”; enough to satisfy, but it was good enough to have more!

To drink I ordered a Red Berry Tea ($4) which includes real berries and is very refreshing in the Tamarindo heat.  Sprout offers a nice selection of iced teas, as well as beers and cocktails.

Burgers are excellent as well, and I am a big fan of their Pineapple Chicken Wrap.

Sprout is one of my favourite restaurants in Tamarindo when I am looking for a light, fresh, delicious meal.
