Tamarindo Art Gallery

Love this place and the owners We stopped by Tamarindo Art Gallery twice. The first time we did not notice the note on the front door that we should ring the bell if the door is locked. We thought the art looked so interesting from looking in the window that we came back and read the door – rang the bell. The owners live next door and came over. So give that a try if it is closed. We loved meeting the owners, Sergio and Mariela (Not sure I spelled Mariela correctly). They are talented, personable and proud business owners. We purchased 2 paintings that are amazing. They will do commissions. If we were staying longer, we would have had them make us something specific but we will be back the next time we are in town. They carefully wrapped our work to protect it during travel. When we got it home and unwrapped my husband and I were impressed with the measures taken to ensure that things traveled well. The items we purchased are canvas paintings that are a little modern in nature but they have many options in different styles. If you are in or near the Tamarindo area, I would suggest stopping by. We will be back and honestly, we will go out of our way to purchase items from this talented couple.

If you’ve moved to Costa Rica and you are looking to liven up your living space with some colourful art, Tamarindo Art Gallery is the place to go. Segio and Mariella’s work is bold and beautiful, and will brighten up your home. We’ve bought four pieces for our current condo, and I commissioned Sergio to do a painting based on a favourite photo of my wife. His take on the photo was fantastic and it made my wife Belinda’s Birthday a really special one. That painting will be the focal point in the living room of the home we are currently building. Many of my friends have purchased their work and are happy they did as well. Every time I bring friends to the gallery Sergio and Mariella call me out by name and treat me like an old friend. We bought a home last year in Brasilito and in Oct 2021 we were looking for some colorful paintings to brighten up our home with scenes of local flora and fauna. We found exactly what we were looking for at the Tamarindo Art Gallery’s kiosk in downtown Tamarindo. We fell in love with the style and the colors of their oil paintings. We bought a dozen small-medium size painting and one larger one. The owners, Sergio and Meriela, were very helpful and couldn’t be nicer. This morning, we just bought 4 large oil painting of macaws, toucans and quetzel. We highly recommend if you are looking for beautiful original oil paintings to brighten up your place for a reasonable price. Thank you Sergio and Mariela!
