THE #1 TOURIST SITE
FOR WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO DO
IN PLAYA TAMARINDO AND
SURROUNDING AREAS

SalveMonos is a non-profit organization that has been working on protecting and preserving wildlife, especially the Howler monkey population for the past 19 years.

In 2004, Simona Daniele and Patricia Sterman were shocked by the massive death of monkeys by electrocution in Guanacaste. Unwilling to stay silent, they gathered the funds to build the first twelve bridges for the area. This is the beginning of Salvemonos Tamarindo.
Over the following years, Salvemonos created nurseries and established alliances with communities, private companies, and other entities to prevent and care for wildlife.

More people joined the team, including biologists, forest engineers, lawyers, researchers, a field director, and volunteers. Salvemonos has expanded to communities such as Playa Hermosa, Ocotal, Playas del Coco, Brasilito, and Playa Grande.

Salvemonos currently works on different community projects focused on prevention, rescue, education, and research and also provides workshops for other NGOs and local law enforcement, and first responders.

You can also be a Salvemonos.
