Malu’s work as a painter reflects all of her 20 years of experience as a designer in Brazil, including pantones and the prints she created and developed for famous Brazilian brands.

After a sabbatical year travelling around the world with her family, Malu opened her atelier in Costa Rica, amidst an urban fashion optic (referring to her work as designer) and the idyllic rainforest.

Her work is marked by an investigative research of new techniques and materials, which create her abstract paintings in which colors and shapes intertwine with her wires and threads, resulting in a harmonious sensation, full of visual intensity, which translate into a sense of movement which evoke Nature.

In this context emerges an open and undisguised way of observation which gives birth to portraits of women that blend painting, collages and 3-D techniques. The resulting work is imbued with latent expressions, feelings, eroticism and poignancy.

With unambiguous references to Klimt, Malu is inspired by the deep and mysterious look of the female nature.
