Working in Metal and Wood
Juan Escoto works in both metal and wood from his workshop in Flamingo. He is known for his quality work as well as his good natured spirit. Draw him an image or give him the measurements and he will create whatever you want. You choose your wood, your varnishes, etc. so that your furniture is exactly what you want. Great when exact measurements are required and an overpriced table at the store will not do.
Juan has a lot of unique talents, so ask him what you need. He is known to take old picture frames and restore them, working in both wood and plaster.
I had gone into the local furniture stores here and was surprised to see, what I considered, to be over priced living room tables. $400 – $500 for one table. Some of them were beautiful, but I’m a practical person and couldn’t see myself spending needless money. I contacted Juan and asked him to build my living room tables. I chose a light gray stain as I wanted the look to be inviting. I let him choose the stain on the TV table, which I’m glad that I did, because it works well in contrast. He made 3 living room tables and 1 TV stand table. All of them are excellent. I also had an old piece of artwork that my grandfather had drawn when he was in art school nearly 80 years ago. The climate here had done its toll. It was falling apart. I thought it was for the trash. Juan told me that he could fix it. I didn’t really believe him, but I told him to give it a go. He sanded down all the old plaster and recreated sections of the frame. I turned out amazing! I am once again hanging it on my wall. Many thanks, Juan!
